IQ Tests...is this for real?!?

So facebook has this ad for IQ tests on the side bar and for the longest time it's been saying something like Tom Cruise's IQ is 98! What's your IQ? Having taken an IQ test before I just thought, I always knew TC was an idiot. I think they say average is 100 so come on, below average clearly. But now there's one that say Tyra Bank's IQ is 128. While still lower than my score, I'm shocked that she's that much smarter than Tom Cruise. Is he that dumb or is she that smart?

Yum, Yum Watermelon

We went to a North Family BBQ (dad's mom) on Saturday. Miles was not so hungry until he saw the watermelon. This was not his first piece nor his last. :)

Pioneer Day Extravaganza

We had lots of fun with our neighbors bbq-ing, watching Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix, talking Twilight, playing tennis & lighting some fireworks (courtesy of Ryan & LeDawn). Thanks guys for a fun night!

Both Landyn & I had to plug our noses for this picture. Proof that when I'm pregnant comfort comes before good looks. (I might be wearing crocs before this pregnancy is over...NEVER.)

I LOVE Landyn's face in this one. He & Rachel had so much fun with the sparklers but he just looks terrified in this one. (Why is that funny to me?)

Teaching the kids some fun tricks. At one point Landyn did go over to one of the little tanks thinking he was gonna jump over it. All of the sudden it started spinning and fortunately for us, he went running the other way. Smart kid.

Facial Hair

My husband has the great ability to grow a full on beard in about a week or two. His favorite think to do is to then shave parts of it and threaten to keep it like that. I love the beard and I love a clean shave but I HATE everything else. Here is a picture of his handle bar mustache. We were cracking up but I wouldn't let him come to bed until it was gone. It was too creepy.

Kangaroo Zoo

Since I've been sick and not really in the mood to do anything poor Miles has been stuck in the house doing not much of anything either. But last week I decided to take him to the Kangaroo Zoo. He had so much fun. I wish I had brought my camera so the quality of these are kinda bad cause I ended up using my phone. Thankfully after an hour or so Miles asked, "Mom, are you ready to go?" He is a child from Heaven cause of course at that moment I was beginning to feel very nauseous and definitely ready to go.

Visit to California

September 13-16 Miles and I will be in California (Valencia to be exact). Miles is missing his grandma and grandma is more than willing to bring her baby boy out for a visit. So we would love to see any and all of you. It's a short trip and we will most definitely be going to Disney at least one (if not 2) of the days we're there. We're flying so I won't have a car but if you've got a free day we'd love to see you! I'm sure this trip will consist of lots of toddler type activities including Chuck E. Cheese, a visit to the park, some swimming at my parent's place (weather permitting), maybe some pictures at the Picture People, etc. So for those of you in San Diego, if you're up for it Disney might be the best day to get together. (Either Monday or Tuesday.) Hope we get to see you! There might even be a little baby bump to see by then. ;)

Not just like last time

All week I've been telling Joel that I don't remember being this sick while I was pregnant with Miles but I guess I could have forgotten. I did work full-time and there is a chance that my selective memory just wasn't registering the pregnancy pains. BUT I have been so achy in my tummy and head and I just thought this can't be the same way I felt last time. Well, today is the first time that I ever threw up during a pregnancy. (I did dry heave once while pregnant with Miles but it was the first and last time that I brushed my tongue while brushing my teeth. Does that count?) The good news is that I feel exponentially better after yakking.

Wind River Backpacking Trip

Now that Joel's back I feel safe to announce that he's been gone for the past week on a backpacking trip with the Varsity Scouts. It was a 6 day hike up in Wyoming.

For those of you who know me and have yet to meet Joel and are now thinking to yourself, "Sara married a guy who camps and hikes and fishes?" The answer folks is yes. And all I can say is the gospel is true! Thanks to a loving Father in Heaven who calls Bishops who in turn call people like my husband to serve in the Young Men we can have a fulfilling marriage where Joel can marry a woman like me and still have the opportunity to do all those other things.

There were 6 leaders, 6 youth and 10 million mosquitoes. There was no reception up in the mountains so we didn't get to talk all week long and I was so happy today when he came home (even though the stench magnified by my pregnant nose was quite unbearable.) Here are some fun pictures from his trip. It looks beautiful! And unfortunately COLD. It's been in the 80 & 90s here in Utah County but when you go up in the mountains it gets significantly colder. The fact that there is still snow on the ground kinda shows how cold we're talking here. Enjoy!
