Man vs. Machine

So lately I have been into playing table tennis (not ping pong) and it so happens that I work with some of the top table tennis player in the state of Utah. These guys are really good and in fact there was a tournament in Cedar City this weekend that everyone went to. So over the past couple of weeks I've gotten some professional pointers and have been playing a lot during my lunch breaks. Well this past week I found this odd looking machine stuffed in a corner and to my surprise it a practice robot and so that has been my focus these last couple of days.

Oh yeah and its a little known fact in the world of table tennis that if you are ever talking to someone and they call the game table tennis and you call it ping pong, it is almost guaranteed that you will lose badly! Just FYI.

Happy Father's Day

to all the dad's in my life, I hope you have a wonderful & happy father's day
JOEL my wonderful husband and the father of our beautiful twins and landyn!
BILL my dad, the man who helped give me life!
DANA my other father who helped raise and take care of me!
CURT the man who helped raise the most important man in my life!
EDDIE Miles daddy!
thank you for all that you do!

4 months old!

Now that Scarlett and Isaac will be 5 months in just a few days I thought I'd post on their 4 month check up. It's just that it gets a little busy over here sometimes and I don't always have time to do all things I want to do. So here we go.

Scarlett is a beautiful little girl who just gets more and more beautiful everyday.
Her stats are as follows: she weighs a healthy 11.5 lbs which is the 8% tile
her height is 24 inches which is the 35% tile
her head circumference is 16 inches which is the 36% tile
HOORAY FOR BEING ON THE CHART!
While it seems like she is getting so big, she is still a tiny bundle of joy.
She loves to smile and will even laugh if you kiss her on her neck.
She still spits up every time she eats which has deterred Miles from ever giving her her pacifier.
She naps like a champ! She almost sleeps through the night. She is not a fussy girl one bit.
She loves a hot bath and pretty bows in her hair. (Although on 2 occasions I have found those bow bands right across her eyes.)
She gets at least 2 outfits a day due to her drooly nature (and reflux).
Her eyes are still blue but definitely have a few brown flecks in them.
She loves to snuggle her daddy and thoroughly enjoys a good beat box rhythm.

Isaac is mama's handsome boy. While he looks like daddy he sure LOVES his mama!
His stats are: weight at 11.7 lbs which is the 2% tile for boys
His height is 25.5 inches which is the 67% tile (long & lean like his mommy)
His head circumference is 15 inches which is the 0.2% tile
(So even though he appears to be the crowd favorite, Scarlett's the one with the big head.)
Everyone says Scarlett looks bigger but Isaac is longer and weighs more.
Isaac is all smiles.
He loves to be held...a lot.
He is not as content to sit in the swing and doesn't nap as well as his sis.
Like his sis he CAN put himself to sleep and does pretty well at night.
He is very ticklish and laughs constantly. It's just part of who he is & the meaning of "Isaac".
He can roll over from back to tummy & back again. We can't leave him anywhere.
He still bobbles his head around but when on his tummy looks like he's gonna start to crawl.
He also enjoys a hot bath and then wants to be cuddled.
His eyes have started to go a little green.
The boys are constantly fighting over who gets to hold him.

They still co-bed but with Isaac rolling all around I'm not sure how long that will last.

We love these babies so much and look forward to being sealed as a family next month! Yes, we got our letters from the First Presidency this month: Joel a sealing clearance and me a sealing cancellation. What a wonderful blessing and a joy to be a part of this gospel and to have the blessing of being an eternal family.

Staycation

When my sil posted about their staycation up in Midway I was quite envious. I commented that I want a anyway-i-can-get-it-cation. Well, we got one! After quite a bit of packing because the twins require 2 outfits per day and diapers and burp cloths and a swing and a boppy and the bath seat and the pack n play AND miles requires the wii and movies we made our way up to Snowbird. Miles loved staying at the house called "hotel". The kids swam and played "pink ponk" and watched movies and played the wii and hiked and played tennis. The adults played cards, swam, did tai chi and water aerobics, ran, hiked, played tennis, exercised, sat in the hot tub, sauna and steam room. It was sooooo fun. My dad's family all have timeshares at Iron Blosam at Snowbird and we got to go spend 4 days and 4 nights with them. All of my younger cousins had a blast babysitting the twins each night for an hour while we went to the hot tub. Thanks Dad for inviting us. I'm now very anxious for our trip to Denver for Paul & Jane's wedding. I don't know why i didn't take more pictures but I didn't and so all I have are the generics from the website but this is the room we spent most of our time in and the hot tub I love and miss. :D

Free Lettuce Wraps at PF Changs

Just heard about this:

To celebrate the chipping skills of PGA tour pro Briny Baird, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro will offer everyone in America a free order of the restaurant’s signature lettuce wraps with the purchase of an entrĂ©e.

Baird teed off this morning from 375 feet in the air atop the Omni Hotel and landed a golf ball inside a bulls-eye 230 yards below in the outfield of PETCO Park, home of the San Diego Padres. His accuracy was also celebrated with a $25,000 donation to the San Diego Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society.

You enter your email address and they send you a coupon for them. YUM!

Playing Catch Up

It took me forever to post but we are soooo proud of our Daddy! April 24th 2009 Joel Graduated from BYU with a degree in Corporate Finance. He worked very hard for very long to make this happen. Going to school full-time and working full-time to support our family. He is a great man! We love you and we're so proud of you!

After many nights of reading Green Eggs and Ham we decided to bring literature to life. Even after all of the time we've read the book Landyn still said, "No thanks" when I asked him he wanted green eggs and ham. LOL! He finally caved in to the peer pressure and did eat. It was really good and I'm sure we'll be doing it again soon. :D

I'm not sure what these kids dream about...maybe touchdowns or riding roller coasters...who knows? But one thing is for sure, they love to sleep with their arms up in the air and stretched out. I guess 7 1/2 months of sharing one uterus gave them plenty of time to realize that they need wide open spaces!

Baby got bumbo!

Finally, a day out with Thomas! Miles loved it and already wants to go back. He got to meet Sir Topham Hat and Mr. Conductor. He got to ride the train and listen to music. It was great. I got to nurse for pretty much the entire time we were there. Thank goodness for slings that conceal a nursing mother. :D Ahhh, the joys of motherhood.
