we survived our first year of twins

Scarlett and Isaac had a very fun birthday! We got lots of diapers and gift cards for diapers which I am calculating to get us through most of the year! Maybe i should consider cloth diapers...then again, maybe NOT!

We had chicken, chilli and cornbread (a very festive cowboy/indian meal) and a yummy costco chocolate cake! As you can see boys are different from girls but by the end of dessert they were both covered in chocolate. :D


All of Joel's "utah" siblings came including his oldest brother Curtis and 4 yr old nephew Jonah, who were here on a business trip. Grandpa & Bonnie, Dad & Rike and Hanna & David and Emily were here to support the Mitchell side. BUT only the mitchell's and one LaClaire wife dressed up! I've got a little more work to do to get those LaClaire's into dressing up! We were sad the Mickelsen's couldn't make it due to sicknesses going around at their house. (Hope you all are feeling better!)

A post to catch up on the month of December

joel and i had a wonderful anniversary. my dad and stepmom watched the twins while we went out for sushi, did a little shopping and attempted to go to the hot tub. these past 2 years have flown by. i love our life, our family and all that we have been able to accomplish. happy anniversary!

we had some friends over for dinner that we hadn't seen since the beginning of my pregnancy and finally got to show off our nearly 1 year old twins! when we were about to eat dinner we found miles on the stairs in the basement asleep!!! how and why he ended up here like this we will never know.

this winter miles became a fan of pee wee herman and watched the forever old christmas special. pee wee makes snow angels and so miles could not wait to try it out. ps. our step dad dana worked on that show!

this was the LACLAIRE family christmas party. we had a delicious mexican christmas dinner with Sandy's famous black eye bean dip (BIG HIT) and then we opened presents. we didn't get landyn until most of the presents were open and miles had already opened transformer pjs. which wouldn't have been bad except then landyn opened star war pjs. fyi: landyn in slightly obsessed with transformers and miles equally with star wars. so being the nice boys that they are, they traded :D

it was a great evening. the only thing missing was the rest of the laclaires!

the night was finished up with some cards and halo!

then my mom came into town and spent a lot of quality time with her favorite grandchild. we also went to tucano's for joel's free birthday meal. the twins loved it! :D

okay. i am still trying to find our christmas, park city and sealing pictures. i may seriously have to have weedle post her slide shows on my blog. :D next up will be the twins bday which is just one week away from tomorrow!!!!

miles goes skiing

my boy is sooo stinking cute! i love seeing him smile and so happy. eddie said he was natural (just like with everything else he does). go miles!

so, this is not a post post with lots of pictures and recaps from Christmas and New Year or an update of the twins cause really I am lagging and don't even know where to begin. not to mention, Joel uploaded all of our pictures onto his laptop but keeps his laptop at work so I don't even have pictures to upload, BUT i read this the other day and am feeling grateful for my wonderful husband so i thought i'd share it.
