For all of my Tall and/or Super Thin Friends having Babies

After having written off maternity pants because they either won't stay up or are way too short for a woman of 5'8, I've been wearing a bella band for the past month. I love it! But having hit the 5th month AND carrying twins I'm now having a hard time with the bella band solution. I tried on a pair of my old maternity jeans and realized how uncomfortable my jeans really are getting. The problem is they're still too big. Now for the good news! Old Navy (a store that has NEVER carried a maternity size that has fit me) now has a line of maternity jeans that come in length as well! Size 0 and 2 in short, regular and LONG! Of course to get a long you have to buy it online BUT at least it's available and they're only $32.50 which is practically half the price of the ones at GAP. So happily I purchased a 2 regular and they fit just fine. I'm sure I'll be out growing them very soon as I'm still growing much faster than I expected but at least I now have relief for my ever expanding uterus.

Hillbilly Family Pictures

The other day we took the boys shopping to get Vance a birthday gift. They had a lot of fun picking out little gifts to give their cousin. While shopping the boys found some fake teeth that they just had to have. They've been wearing them non-stop ever since. Here are some of our funny teeth pictures. Thank goodness for good dental hygiene.

1st Trimester Photo Shoot

Matt Selman is the genius behind these pics. He is so great! I love his work and recommend him to anyone in the Utah area needing photos. We had fun taking these 1st trimester photos. I don't think he'll get me laying on back again any time soon. But it's fun to see how quickly your body changes during this time. Let me know which is your favorite. We'll be doing a 1st, 2nd, 3rd trimester series and then one of the babies outside of the womb when they get here!!!
These were taken in July. I was only about 9 or 10 weeks pregnant but it was toward the end of the 3rd month. Next shoot will probably be toward the end of Oct some time around the 21st week and then again in January around the 33rd or 34th week. We're also hoping to catch the change in the season as well. Summer, Fall, Winter...it won't be quite spring when the babies get here but it's only 9 (maybe 8) months.

I heart Disneyland!!!

OUR DISNEY TRIP FOR THE BOYS BIRTHDAY 2008

Just heard that Disneyland is offering everyone a free ticket on your birthday in 2009 (via my friend Kelsi's blog). All you have to do is register and then show ID at the park.

Here's the link: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disneyparks/en_US/WhatWillYouCelebrate/index?name=FreeOnYourBirthdayPage

And an Extra Bonus!! If you are an Annual Passholder or already have a Multi-Day ticket you will use on your birthday, go ahead and register and bring the free admission on your birthday confirmation and proper ID to the ticket booth so you can choose from one of our other exciting birthday gifts instead.

Everyone should register and enjoy a day at The Happiest Place On Earth as a guest of Mickey. Happy Birthday to you!!

I'm jealous that I won't be able to participate in this event since there's a possible chance I'll be having my babies this week but ya know, we all make sacrifices. ;D

When We Go to Grandma's Big House...

we also watch Babe, Shrek, and The Wizard of Oz endlessly, get to see Jeff & Iris, Kate, Sachia & Sienna, Joanie, Kiersten & Henry, all of our friends at church and nursery, go to disney 2 days in a row, eat In'n Out, go in the Hot Tub, sing songs in the car, see grandpa's bike, get lots of new fun toys, sleep in grandma's bed, snuggle, and make a big mess for grandma to clean up.

the disney ticker

Everyday Miles asks, "should we check to see if Mickey's at the Pirate?" We open up the blog and he sees Mickey creeping along to the Pirate. He always says "Almost!" and then asks if he can call grandma. He presses her number on the speed dial and hits send and when she gets on the phone he says in the highest pitched voice ever, "the mickey's almost to the pirate!" and then says, "ok bye" and hangs up on her. As Mickey has gotten closer to the pirate we've called grandma 3 or 4 times a day. Well, today Mickey is right on top of the pirate. Miles looked at me and said, "Yep! Let's go!" I said, "Ok! You just have to go to daddy's one more time and then we'll go to grandma's big house." He put his arm around me and said, "Ok! Mom, I'm so happy!" He's been nothing but smiles ever since he saw Mickey. He is ready for this trip!

a couple of fun memories from the happiest place on earth!

Joel's Yearbook

50, 52, 56, 60, 68, 70, 72, 74, 78, 80, 82, 84, 88, 92

Apparently Joel has a more universal face shape cause tons of his turned out. It was so hilarious doing this. And of course he loved every minute of it.

Yearbook photos '82 & '94

I found this link on Kelsi's page. Her's turned out really cute and mine, eh. But I thought these two were the best. Pretty funny. Actually I think my mom probably has a picture just like the '82 and this is pretty close to what I looked like in '91. I don't know how to do the link thing yet, so here's the website if anyone else is interested.

Hahaha. I just showed these pictures to Miles and asked, "Isn't that funny?" He said, "yeah, you want to go see those girls?" I asked, "what girls? That's mama!" He said, "No! That one is mama. (pointing to the '94 picture) THAT one is grandma. (pointing to the '82 picture)" Isn't that so weird. I don't think he's ever seen my mom's hair like that. Or the picture I was referring to. Funny Boy!

You know I'll be there!

Strawberry Surf Rider

I have been craving something cold and juicy and all I can think of is a Strawberry Surf Rider from Jamba Juice. I found this recipe on yahoo. The Jamba Juice website also has White Grape Juice (from concentrate) but doesn't say how much of it. Anyway, I don't think I can afford a $4 drink everyday so I will be making it at home. Yum!!! I love the internet.

For a 24 oz size=Original
12 oz of fresh squeezed lemonade
2 scoops of frozen strawberries
1 scoop of frozen peaches
2 scoops of Lime sherbet
1 scoop of crushed ice

NEW INFO, NEW POLL

So I found out yesterday at my appointment that unless we do some VERY expensive testing there is no REAL way to know if our babies are identical or not. Obviously if one is a boy and one is a girl they are NOT identical no matter how much they look like each other. :D If one has brown eyes and one has blue eyes: not identical, etc. But just because they look a lot alike and even exactly alike, unless we do the tests we still wouldn't know for sure that they were identical. (Of course most people don't do the testing because if their sons or daughters look exactly alike they're satisfied enough to call them identical.) But I changed the poll. The last one ended in 13 votes: 2 for identical girls, 2 for fraternal girls, 1 for identical boys, 2 for fraternal boys and a whopping 6 for 1 boy, 1 girl. I tried to just add these votes to the new poll but couldn't figure it out. So vote again if you want but I'll add the last votes to the final count later. We find out next month at our perinatologist appt what we're having. (Yes, we get two doctor appointments each month just as an extra precaution for the babies.) I can't wait. In other baby news, Baby A has a health heart rate of 160 and Baby B of 170!! (According to some old wives tale I found on line, this is an idicator toward girls.) Both are doing really well so far. In other body news, I have gained 8 inches around my waist (just above the hip bones near the belly button) and I continue to grow about an inch a week. If I continue at this rate I will add at least 21 more inches to my tummy but I've got a feeling it's going to grow bigger and faster than that. So I'm looking at tripling my original waistline. Hopefully I'll be as lucky with the stretch marks as I was last time. Pictures to come!
